The ARTEMIS car is inspired by lego toys which are highly modular and adaptable. One of its key features is its parallel frames that allow rapid testing of the car's build. Another feature that allowed it to stop 3 metres from its starting point was a braking system that involved a coiled string, with a twisted rubber band forming its propulsion system. A single AA battery was attached to the front of the car to increase downwards force on the car, allowing for the torque of the wheels to be increased without them skidding.
