The Helix tower has a modular design and can be scaled up or down to a certain extent since it is essentially a single lattice unit that repeats throughout its structure. Hexagons and equilateral triangles were used as they are efficient load-bearing structures, giving the tower an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. Using spaghetti as the building material, we transformed this fragile material into a sturdy tower capable of bearing 2.3kg, with a weight efficiency of 16.3 (ground area/weight). There is just something magical about this simple but elegant tower twisting into the sky.
