Typodont + is the world's first training simulator capable of detecting teeth root contact while accurately replicating the experience of inserting an orthodontic mini screw. It is designed to benefit students and doctors alike by providing a training platform to practice on instead of training on real patients.

The bone resistance is simulated by an engineered 3D-printed structure that was found to closely resemble the stiffness of the human bone, one that is capable of varying in strength to account for a wide variety of bone densities. The sensory system relies on an innovative capacitive sensor system to detect screw contact in the roots of the teeth.

The teeth are cast via injection molding using a unique low-cost hybrid blend of plaster and wax which offers imaging capabilities when visualized using radiography.
